The Clerk reported the resignation of Mr Fred Hartley and that there were now four vacancies on the Board.
It was resolved that no action be taken to fill the vacancies at the present time and for the matter to be discussed at the next meeting of the Board.
Prior to the meeting, the Members observed a minutes’ silence as a mark of respect for the former Chairman, Mr Stuart Ayers, who died on the 4th December 2020.
A rate of 6.50p in the £ was set.
Following the resignation of the Chairman, Mr Mike Day was appointed Chairman.
It was reported that Mr Stuart Ayers had been a member of the Board for 48 years and had served as Chairman for 36 years and as District Officer for 15 years.
Mr Neil Buttress was appointed Vice Chairman and Mr Fred Leach was appointed Deputy Vice Chairman.
Messrs Day, Buttress and Leach were all appointed District Officers.
A rate of 6.10p in the £ was set.
The Chairman welcomed Councillor Billy Rackley (local authority appointee) who was attending his first meeting of the Board.
Messrs S C P Ayers and M G Day were re-appointed Chairman and Vice Chairman respectively.
A rate of 5.80p in the £ was set.
The Chairman welcomed Mr John Bunning who was attending his first meeting of the Board.
Messrs S C P Ayers and M G Day were re-appointed Chairman and Vice Chairman respectively.
A rate of 5.70p in the £ was set.
It was resolved to co-opt Mr John Bunning of Hutchinsons to membership of the Board, if willing to do so.
