The Chairman welcomed Mr Charlie Marks (local authority appointee) who was attending his first meeting of the Commissioners.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Commissioners travelled to Glenhouse pumping station where Andy Maddams, the Commissioners’ District Superintendent, gave a presentation on the operation of the site.

The Commissioners set a rate of 39.5p in the £.

Messrs John Heading and Robert Sears were re-appointed Chairman and Vice Chairman respectively.

The Finance Committee comprising Mrs A J Langley, Councillor C J Crofts, Messrs J E Heading, P Jolley and R M C Sears were appointed.

Prior to the meeting, the Commissioners stood in silence as a mark of respect for Mr Brian Cobb, former Superintendent, who  died earlier this year.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Commissioners travelled to Salters Lode Lock, for an inspection of the operation of the water control facilities operated by the Middle Level Commissioners and the Environment Agency.

The Commissioners set a rate of 38.0p in the £.

Mr John Heading was re-appointed Chairman.    Following the resignation of Mr Verden Walker, Mr Robert Sears was appointed Vice Chairman.

Mr Dave Gillett (represenative of the Environment Agency) gave a presentation on the operation of the Ouse Washes system, the use of Welney Gate, Welches Dam pumping station and the Old Bedford Sluice.
