Planned Suspensions for 2026

The following are planned suspensions to navigation in 2026 for works that are currently in the planning stages. Once the date windows for works are confirmed, the suspension notice will be published and distributed.

  • In Spring 2026 navigation west of Lodes End Lock will be suspended as we lower water levels to enable us to remove and then refit two of the six pumps at Bevill’s Leam Pumping Station. It is likely that three closure periods will be needed. This will not affect the Nene to Gt Ouse link route.
  • There will need to be a closure of Ashline Lock, Whittlesey to inspect the lock pen and gates. An inspection is needed to scope future gate replacement works. As this would suspend navigation on the Link-Route, we will not undertake this work during the main boating season. The inspection will likely take place in Autumn 2026, however if resources enable, we may bring this forward to Spring 2026.
